The Life of King Saul

King Saul was the first king of Israel, and he ruled for many years. He was a man of great faith, and he is an important figure in the Bible because he shows us that God can use anyone to achieve His purposes. No matter our background or our abilities, God can use us to do great things.

Saul in the Bible:

“Now the day before Saul came, the LORD had revealed to Samuel:” (1 Samuel 9:15)

“‘About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have seen my people, and their cry has reached me.'” (1 Samuel 9:16)

“And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD told him, ‘Here is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.'” (1 Samuel 9:17)

“Saul replied, ‘But I am only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel. And my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe!'” (1 Samuel 9:21)

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'” (1 Samuel 16:7)

“Then the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon Saul, and he prophesied among them.” (1 Samuel 10:9-10)

“After that, he was appointed captain over the army of Israel.” (1 Samuel 11:15)

“And the LORD was with Saul and made him very successful in everything he did.” (1 Samuel 18:14)

“But Saul became more and more afraid of David. (1 Samuel 18:15)

“The day finally came when David had to fight against Goliath.” (1 Samuel 17:4)

“Saul said to David, ‘Go, and the LORD be with you!'” (1 Samuel 17:37)
