The Life of Samuel

Samuel was a prophet and judge in Israel who played a major role in the country’s history. He anointed both Saul and David as king, and he also wrote several of the books of the Old Testament.

Samuel was a man of great faith, and he is an important figure in the Bible because he shows us that God can use anyone to achieve His purposes. No matter our background or our abilities, God can use us to do great things.

Samuel in the Bible:

“The Lord called Samuel when he was just a boy, and Samuel served the Lord all his life.” (1 Samuel 3:10)

“The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'” (1 Samuel 16:7)

“The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.” (1 Samuel 3:19)

“So Samuel told everyone who was asking him for a sign from the LORD to go home, because the LORD had refused to answer them.” (1 Samuel 8:18)

“And Samuel said to all Israel, ‘I have listened to everything you said to me and have appointed a king over you.'” (1 Samuel 12:1)

“Now go and attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'” (1 Samuel 15:3)

“The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors–to David. He will be your king, and you will serve him.'” (1 Samuel 28:17)

“The LORD has done what he promised. He has raised up a savior for Israel from among the people.” (2 Samuel 7:28)
